• Mary Niederlehner

    Graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University

    Mary Niederlehner is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with both a bachelor of science in psychology and a bachelor of science in nursing. She graduated magna cum laude and appeared on the dean’s list three times and on the president’s honor roll twice. Prior to graduating from VCU, Mary Niederlehner attended the University of South Carolina, where she was also a member of the dean’s list.

    In addition to her coursework, Ms. Niederlehner traveled to Guatemala with the VCU Nursing Students Without Borders program. There, she conducted health screenings and health education programs for underserved Mayan communities. She also volunteered with the American Red Cross, Carver Greenhouse Project, tutored her fellow Spanish students in high school, and volunteered as a laboratory research assistant for the VCU Biopsychology Department.

    To further her work with the VCU Biopsychology Department, in the fall of 2011 she was an undergraduate research presenter for at the Virginia Academy of Science Undergraduate Research Symposium. That same fall, she began her term as treasurer for the Psi Chi National Psychology Honor Society.

    Outside of her school life, Ms. Niederlehner is a travel enthusiast and has visited 15 different countries. She is also an experienced pianist, having studied piano and music theory for over eight years.
